✿2 [Action] The dangers of moving in

*Hey, you. Yeah, you!

Where are you right now? At home? Out and about? In the bath?

It doesn't matter where you are, because in a second, there's going to be a strange black vortex right nearby. And as the vortex fades, it will be leaving in its place a young-looking ~~vampire~~ girl in a gothic lolita outfit. She has some furniture with her; something nice like a tasteful armchair with an Ottoman, or whatever.

She also looks very angry at the fact that her spatial teleportation keeps going awry.* This... miserable little pigsty!

*The TL;DR Version: There is now an angry loli vampire in your immediate vicinity. She has furniture.*

(ooc: CR building post! Rachel has teleported into wherever your character is while trying to get furniture back to her new home. Feel free to determine whatever setting would be most awesome/interesting/hilarious! Standard Rachel Warning applies - she will be kind of mean.)

*And wonderful, people staring at her.* Do you find something interesting? Entertaining, perhaps?

Oh. [Realizing his rudeness, Jack rose to his feet, ignoring the clatter of the fire-making materials, and bowed to the girl.] Forgive me, miss, I did not mean to stare. It is simply that you surprised me.

*...oh, hey, manners. Respect. It's enough to make her actually stop bristling and cool down, if just for a second.* ...of course I did. Ancient men found simple thunder surprising and fearful because they could not comprehend it.

[Having seen men do just that in Aku's world, Jack found her of interesting company.]
There is a great deal of wisdom to your words. I would offer you tea, but I have not managed a fire quite yet. Or were you on your way somewhere? [His attention drifted from the now wind-scattered attempts at a campfire to the furniture assembled near his makeshift camp.]

*Wow. Jack may be the first person to start off on something resembling the right foot with her. She pauses, looking at her furniture and back at the man.*

It is obvious that haste will get me nowhere. If you are offering tea, then I shall graciously accept. *And fire is no problem for someone who can control lightning!*

[Jack gave a small smile and gathered up the remnants of the fire makings. With the practice of countless times before, the samurai brought the small ember from the hand-spinning of the reed to life, adding bits of tinder to it until it grew into a rather comfortable campfire. Dusting off his hands, he rose to his feet and withdrew a tea-kettle from his small traveling pack.] Pardon me for asking, but do you have a preference for tea?

[After dealing with the Scotsman and his family, Jack took to asking first before making assumptions. Though, he still did not understand what haggis was.]

*And she could have ignited the fire with a thought, but she opted... not to. No reason to flaunt her power, she reasoned, right? It was almost skillful, how he set it himself.*

Black tea, if you have it. I do not care for that... oolong tea of China.

Something sweet.

[Jack grimaced inwardly. Her comment about her dislike of tea seemed to show her ignorance of his origin, but he could have shrugged that away as the mistake of a newcomer or stranger. Rifling through his pack, he looked through his assortments of teas he had obtained from a store, wanting to sample those of other nations. The samurai did not care for the sweeter teas, but he wanted to uphold his manners and social poise, especially to someone new. Remember...patience. He pulled out a small package with several samples of a dark crimson tea and went about setting up the tea with the kettle.]

While we wait for the tea to ready, might I ask where you were trying to go? From your exclamation earlier, it would seem obvious that you were not trying to end up here... [He gestured towards the general beginnings of a camp] ...with your rather nice furniture. If you are in need of help, perhaps I can assist you with that endeavor.

*No, just an arrogant little vampire noblewoman, Jack. A bit harder to deal with. Rachel really wished that Nago were here for her to sit on.* I was attempting to bring this furniture to my newly chosen abode.

...as you can see, I have as of yet been unsuccessful.

[The water was at a boil, and Jack took care in preparing the tea in a rather simple pot. His interest had traveled back to the deeper meaning of the girl's appearance and the failed attempt to teleport the furniture.] I presume you were traveling using some form of magic or power. Do you have any ideas as to what could interfere with it?

[He was not a fool when it came to the basics of sorcery, at least for those who wielded it. For something to cause her to stray while in transit would require some higher power to halt her. That, or perhaps she had simply been clumsy and got lost. Again, Jack was not about ready to voice those particular assumptions.]

It was a simple spatial transfer. ...this world must be going through some sort of flux, as my intended location seems to no longer be where it had previously been.

I see...[He poured a serving of tea into a simple cup and placed a saucer underneath it.] Would you care anything in your tea? I have some sugar and spices stored away if you'd like.

[Making his own meals while wandering had taught him to come prepared. Anything that could add flavoring and a change from the bland, typical meals was a luxury he planned on taking full advantage of while in Luceti.]

If you have it, I will take a small helping of sugar. *How plebeian. Probably hardly what she's used to.

But he is being... polite. And she won't turn down this offer, anyway.*

[He poured a small spoonful of sugar into Rachel's tea, stirring it lightly to start with before placing the teaspoon in careful arrangement on the saucer. Rising from his seat, Jack walked over and offered Rachel her cup of tea.] Your tea, miss...?

*Rachel reaches to take the cup and saucer.* This is not the tea you normally drink, is it? *She's guessing from his dress.*

And yet, you prepare it competently enough.

[Jack moved back to prepare a cup of the tea for himself, a small smile on his face.] I am used to having guests with tastes far different than mine. The most difficult skill to learn was to have a mind open enough for the odd tastes that come along.

[He had associated with enough creatures, alien races, and beings to know that all to well.]

*She did not yet drink; that would have been rather rude, and she did pride herself on her nobility.* I see. How mature of you, Mr. Wanderer.

Tell me your name.

[He set his tea down onto the saucer and gave yet another bow to his guest.] They call me..."Jack." Samurai Jack.

*And Rachel returned it with the barest incline of her head. Really, it's exceptionally polite for her.* Mr. Samurai, then.

*She raised the cup to her lips and took a sip.*

[The small smile returned the samurai's face as he took his seat. After taking a few sips of his tea, he looked across the fire at the visitor.]
About your furniture...if this world is affecting your powers, it is quite possible that it will continue to make it difficult for you to transport them to their final destination through the use of your powers. Perhaps I could assist you with moving them by land. That is, if it would help make it easier for you rather than the furniture possibly ending up in a place less welcoming than my camp.

It is only a matter of time before I bend this world to my will. If you are offering, Mr. Samurai, then you would be doing the entirety of the work. I have no taste for manual labor.

*A sip* This is genuinely drinkable - I had not anticipated such.

[Jack bowed his head lightly in appreciation of the compliment.] Thank you, I've had many years practice in making proper tea.

[It was why Jack avoided asking for tea and instead for hot water in pubs, taverns, and the like. Too many who butchered what could have been a decent cup.]

As for the labour, I meant that if you would guide me to your home, I would not mind transporting your chair and furniture there. For one also new to this world, I understand the frustrations of things not being as one is used to. I wish to alleviate one trouble from your plate, so to speak, small as it may be.

It shows. I do not give the slightest of compliments lightly. *Okay, it's actually pretty good. She likes you, Jack. You're polite.*

If you are offering, I shall take advantage of your generosity.

Very well. However, let us finish our tea first. As you said, there is no haste just yet.

[Despite some edge to her words when they first met, Jack found her company to be far better than those he had met in the future. Though the move of the chair and ottoman would need to be a careful effort, he was gladly willing to give aid to the girl.]
